Vineyard of Cahors

cahors

Cahors vineyard is located in both sides of the Lot Valleys. For centuries, Cahors wines were called « black wine », because of their very dark colour that appeared almost black.
Labelled « Cahors Malbec », these wines must be made with at least 70% of the grape variety in question, which is also locally called « Côt » and « Auxerrois ». Cahors wines are tannic, lively and supple with noticeable red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and blackcurrant.
